諾曼第戰役在1944年6月6日展開，是人類近代歷史上規模最大的一次海上登陸作戰，近300萬盟軍士兵橫渡英吉利海峽後在法國諾曼第登陸。奧馬哈海灘(OMAHA)是當年登陸的六個海灘之一，海灘全長6.4公里，海岸多為30幾公尺高的峭壁，地形易守難攻。
由於情報有誤，隆美爾早在3月就將德軍精銳的第9軍團352步兵師調往諾曼第，因此盟軍遭受巨大損失，又稱「血腥奧馬哈」。撫今追昔，如今海灘的細沙柔軟依舊，夕陽依然燦爛，想想野心者的下場，想想戰後這一代的幸福，也想想帶來甚麼勇氣與智慧的啟示。
